Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.

Scott Air Force Base is home to the headquarters of many major military organizations including the Air Mobility Command (AMC), the United States Army Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), and the United States Transportation Command (ULTRANSCOM). Scott Air Force Base is located near Belleville, Illinois and was established in 1917. Scott Air Force Base is located about 20 miles east of St. Louis. If arriving by car, head toward Memphis and take Exit 164East at exit 19. Signs will lead visitors to the main gate, and lodging is on the right. If military personnel live on-post, children will attend schools in Mascoutah Community Unit School District. Housing at Scott Air Force Base is privatized, and all on-and off-post housing arrangements are coordinated through the Military Housing Management Office at #618-746-4911. Over 1500 homes were recently constructed to join the historic homes which also populate the base. The housing office maintains a list of all off-post homes for rent or purchase as well as available apartment complexes. Dormitories for unaccompanied soldiers are available as well. For those on a waiting list and needing temporary lodging, the Scott Inn will provide 15 days for incoming arrivals. The inn has 60 units for accommodate families, and reservations are made on a first come, first serve basis. No pets are permitted at the Scott Inn. Sponsors can help secure nearby kennel facilities for those travelling with pets.
